Modo welcomes a new member: Erika Ellyne
MODO Advocaten / Avocats is delighted to introduce you to Erika Ellyne, our new MODO member.
Erika Ellyne is expert in IP/ICT and data protection law. She will support and boost the digital transition projects at MODO as lead of the Technology practice at MODO.
After 6 years of academic research at the VUB with focus on intellectual property, competition law (US and EU), EU regulatory law and data protection, she became member of the Brussels Bar in 2015 and gained practical know how both in transactional and litigation work as business lawyer in two renowned international law firms.
Erika is “looking forward to starting this new adventure and is keen to contribute to and develop MODO’s digital transformation portfolio.” She is happy to be part of MODO’s close knit and dynamic team, who, she says combines “intimate client knowledge and support with excellent sectoral expertise. In addition MODO offers an attractive status for senior lawyers that allows for independent development in a flexible and supportive environment”. Erika has always been interested by the crossroads of technology and law and shall continue to explore this intersection and its links with the other sectors of the MODO team’s legal expertise.
“We are excited that Erika is joining MODO”, says Régine Feltkamp, head of the regulatory team at MODO. "Erika’s particular strength is that she combines academic thoroughness with practical and strategical insight in a field of expertise that - in this era of digital transformation (accelerated by the covid-crisis) - is increasingly essential to the businesses in the sectors we are supporting, also for their core business. I look forward to work together with Erika on the expanding support demands regarding digitalization and AI projects for the regulated industries I work in and especially for the financial sector and the energy sector.”
